change of appetite...??

i've noticed that my dear Jihan does not take her milk that frequent nowadays....usually she'll drink her formula milk once or twice and sometimes 3 times per day....but currently, she did not ask for her milk, sometimes up to 2 days....

her appetite for other foods and drinks are as usual....and she is as active as ever....now, i gave her full cream milk in small packets and i'm sort of "forcing" her to drink....(i had to tell her that if she doesn't take her milk, she'll end up in hospital, just like her papa... Eyebrow )

yesterday, she drank 1/2 packet for breakfast and another 1/2 packet after her bath....then another 1/2 for lunch and another 1/2 for tea....

milk is essential for growing children apart from other prepared food....it contains all the needs for a growing body....at the same time, children need to eat healthy and balance food as well....so, everything has to be balanced up....

P/S: thank you for the get-well-soon wishes for my hubby...alhamdulillah, he's recovering slowly...

the recovery....

my husband was brought back to his room at almost noon.....he was then more alert and conscious than before...i started given him liquid and he was taking it well....

he complained of shoulder tip pain more severe than the operation site pain...this was due to phrenic nerve irritation during the operation and due to some gas residue inside his abdominal cavity....i had to run down to the shop downstairs to get him some pain-relief patch for him to apply on his shoulder....

he was able to walk slowly to the toilet with my assistance and started to take soft diet....i became his private nurse to make sure all his needs were attended to as soon as possible....since we knew the staff nurses who work there very well, they were very happy that i did most of the things myself rather than to call them to do it, even though they offered to do them for me....i even took blood and insert the branula for my husband as he feared the houseman would do harm to him Nervous 2

my husband stayed in a 2-bedded room..the other bed was empty, so i got to sleep there at night...

we stayed at the ward until Tuesday evening (1 day after the operation)...he was feeling a bit better the next day and started to eat and drink quite a lot...(i have to run down the cafeteria twice to but him his favourite pau and cincau!!! )Blow Kiss

he is recovering now at home....started ambulating quite often and he told me last night that he'll be perfectly well by Sunday....

an anguish wait...

my dear hubby underwent his laparoscopic cholecystectomy (removal of his gallbladder secondary to symptomatic cholelithiasis) on Monday....

i thought of not seeing him in the operation theatre (OT) but i changed my mind because i wanted to be near him when he wakes up...

he went in at 8 o'clock but i only went in at 8.30 am because i didn't have the access to the changing room, so i had to wait for other staffs pass through the door....i worked there before, so i know my way around...

i went to his OT and saw him already under general anaesthesia (GA)...i did not enter the OT, i just waited outside the induction bay but was able to see him through the window...i didn't want to disturb the people inside the OT, they would probably become anxious if they know that i was there....

the surgeon and his assistants only started the operation at 8.50 am....they made 4 small holes on his abdomen to accomodate the camera port and other accessories to assist in removing the gallbladder....i can hear my hubby's pulse through the anaesthetist monitor...in the middle of the operation, the anaesthetist asked the surgoen to withold the procedure...he needed to change his laryngeal mask airway to endotracheal tube (ET) to ensure better air circulation to his lungs....so he was intubated in the middle of his surgery.....

the operation resumed...i was able to see the procedure through the monitor....his gallbladder was quite embedded to his liver with some adhesions...i wasn't sure about my feelings at that time....i was anxious when it was quite noisy in the OT...

the gallbladder was taken out after 1 hour the operation started....i've worked with the surgeon before, so when he came out i talked to him and he was assuring me that it was a succesful operation...no spillage of bile and not much bleed....

i went into the OT to see the stones; the culprit all this while....to my surprise, they were only tiny stones but many of them.....and they were black in colour....

my husband was stitched and cleaned after the procedure and he had difficulties to wake up from the anaesthesia....he was still unconcious but struggling when they wanted to get his ET tube out...

he was brought to the recovery bay and complained of pain at the operation site and also his shoulder....he was still not fully conscious and kept asking me the same questions about his operation....

affter 1/2 hour at the recovery bay, he was discharged back to the ward....

election fever...

this should never happen ...

malaysia's general election is just around the corner...you can see the flags of different colours, of different parties almost on every lamp posts on the street....even my little Jihan noticed that....we told her which flag belongs to which party....

of course, being a small kid at her age, she tends to remember the flag with less details, the green with a white circle (you know what i mean)....and she can pronounce the party's name correctly because it is easy to say it out....oh, don't get me wrong, i don't favour any party at the moment, so no offense of me telling this...

today, when we were sending my husband to the hospital, we saw many motorcyclist carrying many flags of their party at one go, some of them were not wearing any helmets and some were carrying the flags dangerously...not only the motorcyclist but some cars/vans passengers were doing that too....and my Jihan said, "eh, apa tuh...? baik-baik, nanti jatuh.."

they should put their safety a priority and the safety of other road-users as well....this attitude should be emphasized by the political heads....some of the acts for the political campaigns can be hazardous to themselves and others....i just hope the casualty in the hospitals are not due to this unethical attitudes....and let's pray that this coming election will run smoothly....

my 100th post....happy 57th bithday, abah...

this post is full of numbers...it's my 100th post and today is my abah's 57th birthday....yeah, 1 year past his retirement and he's enjoying his retirement days...alhamdulillah he's still fit and healthy....

i used to follow my abah doing his activities when i was small...playing tennis, attending his police cadet activities, met some of his friends while drinking teh tarik, etc....i was the only child then, before my sister was born (we were 5 years apart), so i was quite a daddy's girl....

but when i grew up, we were not that close....but he gave me advices and started talking when he thought that i really need to hear his words....he used to teach me to read quran but i always ended up crying because he was so strict (with his caning stick)...then i learned how to read quran with my neighbour next door...

somehow, with his strict upbringing made me what i am today.....he always know what is best for his 2 daughters and never failed to attend to our needs...he was the one who took care of my mak when she was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma 7 years ago..both me and my sister were at the universisty and school....he was very hardworking and very particular about his work....and with that, he was honoured with the Anugerah Mangku Negara (AMN) by the Yang DiPertuan Agung last year...

for me, he's the BEST abah...he is very proud of his 2 daughters...we are what we are today because of his dedication and determination to bring what is best in us....Thank You, Abah....May Allah bless you always.....

doctor...

dear hubby was on leave today and he spend the rest of the evening with Jihan while i was at work...they picked me up at my clinic at past 5...

as i entered the car, my hubby asked Jihan, "mama kerja apa...?"

Jihan replied, "doctor..."

then hubby asked again, "papa kerja apa...?"

again she said, "doctor..."

then, "Jihan kerja apa..?, hubby asked again....

she replied, "doctor..."

she learns a new word today...i wonder if she ever wants to become a doctor when she grows up...

injured

we went to PD last weekend and did enjoy ourselves very much.....Jihan was being so active and naughty and she fell on the rough rubbly pavement....she cried for a while, then back to her normal self, running here and there, jumping around like nothing happened....

she suffered an abrasion wound over ther dorsum of her right hand and she held her right hand stiff and still....i applied the First Aid Lotion on the wound....there was no swelling or deformity on the affected hand and she can move the hand quite well, so we were not suspecting any fractures there....

during dinner time, she refused to use her right hand to eat....instead, she was using her left hand.....

the wound had dried up but once a while she refused to use her right hand that often...but she's recovering well....

that's what happened when you have little rascal like Jihan....

my hair is growing....

my sister bought this troll at Cameron Hoghlands Kea Market during our last visit almost 1 month ago.....it has many different shape but she chose the snowman...

it is actually some sort of saw dust impregnated with some grass seed....you only have to soak it overnight then the next day, just quarter-filled a container and by day 3 you'll see the troll's hair is growing....

my dear Jihan was so fascinated seeing it's hair when it first grew...and she was so excited seeing her makngah gave the troll its forst haircut....

now it has grow longer and my sister had went back to Adelaide and we don't have time to trim its hair yet...

everyday, Jihan will look at the window to see the troll and its hair.....

a visit to BreadTown

we went to Hi5 BreadTown in Shah Alam last weekend....it's a bread museum...we came walked-in, not knowing that we were supposed to book the tour....luckily, the nice girl who works as our guide was willing to do extra work to entertain us...

we started off with a multimedia presentation and then through a journey of the evolution of breadmaking....then we got to see a huge Hi5 bread factory but unfortunately, they were resting at that time, so we didn't see how the process and the breadmachines work...the factory manages to produce 8000 loafs of bread per hour!!!

at the end of the tour, we got a goody bag each comprising of a white loaf bread, a butter cake, swiss roll, muffins and bread roll....so we got 4 bags...!!!

it's a good and interesting place for kids and family to enjoy.....you can make an appointment to visit them @ Hi5 BreadTown...

more picts will be uploaded @ our fotopages soon....

my little picasso

we bought Jihan her first art set yesterday at the Early Learning Centre at The Gardens ....she was so excited and very eager to do her first painting with me....

she is a very careful and cautious painter and never spill any paint or make any mess while painting.....

and she cleans the tools after finished her painting...

and now, she always ask me to do painting with her every now and then....i guess she develops a new interest now..
