a healthy start....
i need to be strong and fight this laziness inside me....i need to show a good example to my patients and my family (especially my daughter) as this is the time to socialize with others and take a good fresh air in the park besides getting the benefits of exercising....
i went to follow my dad to his family day today...managed to follow the aerobic session (eventhough it was already towards the end of it...) my daughter enjoyed herself playing and ruuning around the park....
it's good to exercise on most of the days of the week but if it is not possible, try at least 3 times per week, 30-45 minutes each session....when you briskwalk or jog, it doesn't matter the distance but you need do it continuously for 30-45 minutes...and gradually increase the frequency and intensity over time...
Good Luck!!!!

Transformers....8 random things about my Jihan
- when she was born, the first thing that really caught my attention when my obs put her on my belly, was her so big eyes...!!!! (like alien!) hahahaha....
- she was an easy baby....she would sleep throuhout the night, only woke up once to breastfeed....(phew...!)
- she hardly cry when she was a baby....even my neighbours didn't realize that i've given birth because our house was sooooo quite....now, she is so talkative...!!
- i've stopped breastfeeding her when she was 6 months...i did not offer her my breast at all because i was afraid that she might want to breastfeed back whereas at that time my milk supply was almost nil....some time later when i tried to offer her my breast, she would "yucksss" at it.... : (
- we bought her a lot of toys during her younger days but what caught her attention were the toys wrapper, plastic bags and papers....duuuhhhhh....!
- she was smiley baby even up till now...when she wakes up from sleep, the first thing she would do is to throw her beautiful, charming smile....very seldom she would throw her tantrum....
- she is so proud of her smooth, silky hair....she will never let anybody touch her hair...it's a miracle that she'll let us to tie her hair....
- she has a great bond with her papa....she will want her papa to do everything for her....but when papa is not around, then she'll turn to mama.... ; )
well, that's just a bit about my little one...you need to meet her personally then you'll be charmed by her characters...

baking is fun for the loved ones....

i'm thankful for being blessed with the talent to bake and cook, alhamdulillah....and i'm glad that i have a family who simply loves to eat....! whatever i cook or bake, they will surely finished, the latest by 2 days...and i should give a pat on my husband's back...he can eat as much, without gaining weight at all! and i'm just jealous of that....
my latest project was baking for my beloved friends during our reunion in Kuantan on 13-15 th July....it's even enough for my lecturers (Dr Nora and Dr Naznin) as well...
as for Jihan, she loves to "help" me while i'm baking....

conjunctivitis
- there are many causes of red eyes. if it is associated with itchiness, eye discharge and causes sticky eyes, most probably it is infective in origin
- beware if you have blurring of vision, headache, nausea or vomiting. these symptoms may indicate that your red eyes are non infective. seek immediate treatment at you doctor.
- always wash your hands after touching your eye and before you touch the other eye. this may prevent the infection to spread to the other eye.
- most of the infective red eyes are caused by virus. it may take about 5-7 days to subside. bacterial conjunctivitis associated with more purulent and copious eye discharge
- treatment is by topical eyedrop antibiotic not by oral medications
- quarantine yourself or your child. abstain your child from school or nursery and yourself from workplace as this condition is infective
- do not rub your eyes if it is itchy. you may ask your doctor for antihistamine

another year older....
i've been through many experiences in life for the past 27 years...those experiences made me what i am today....i owe a lot to both my parents who taught the meaning of life and how to survive in this competitive world...
as an eldest of 2 in my family, i had to set good example to my little sister who is 5 years younger than me...although i admit that i'm not a good big sis...i was the only child for 5 years before my sister was born...so, i was very much pampered by my parents...so when my sister was born, there was a big gap in our age...so, i seldom played with my sister that much... and we often quarrel due to misunderstanding...
i went to the boarding school when i was 16 and my sister much more earlier when she was 13...she's a tough girl and very independent...i spent 2 weeks crying in the boarding schoool when i first stepped my feet there...but my sister was an easy-goer....she was smarter than i am as well...she got 9A1 in her SPM and was a drum major in her band team...sometimes, we quarrelled like cats and dogs...
our family went through a journey that we never thought of...my mum was diagnosed with a Hodgkin's Lymphoma ( a lymphatic channel cancer) when i was in 2nd year medical student...she was a tough lady...i never see her cried even though it was painful dealing with the chemotherapy, hairloss and such...and when my mum was hospitalized for 1 week in every 6 weeks for chemotherapy, my dad stayed at home alone as both of us in campus and hostel....so he took care of himself and my mum very well...
at that time, i broke off with my teenage boyfriend...so, i cried at her hospital bed-side...my mum was the one comforted me and told me "don't worry, let's nature takes it course.." ....she wrote me a letter of encouragement that it's not the end of the world....maybe it's easier for her to write it down than saying it to me....with her prayer, 1 and 1/2 later i fall in love with me husband now...
these are some of my experiences in life that made me strong and how i treasure my family most....i was 25 when i gave birth to my dear Jihan and my mum, dad and my hubby were always there to support me all the way through...it's just the beginning of my journey and there's yet to come...

preparing for the BIG DAY!

well, here's a checklist:
- menu for the day - checked (mama and wan)
- guests invitiation - checked (mama and wan)
- Jihan's presents - checked (mama, papa, wan and atok)
- birthday cake - checked (mama)
- Jihan's birthday gown - checked (mama and papa)
- venue preparations - checked (awaiting cleaning and polishing by all of us)
basically, that's all i think...her 1st birthday last year, we had the similar things as well....so nothing extra special...it's time to meet friends and relatives and chit chat and eat and eat and have fun together....and the most important thing is to make everybody who comes happy and satisfied...
since Jihan is still small, this special event is to help her to socialize and make friends....i just hope that she'll be in her good mood on that day...
