milk alert!!

Jihan's formula milk Progress Gold, is almost finished today...we planned to buy her milk yesterday but we were too tired to go to Carrefour Alamanda..so this morning, i got ready early and went to Carrefour Midvalley to purchase her milk....

we bought some other things before going to the formula milk rack....to my surprise, the brand is NIL on the rack...ok, not to panic...so , off we went to Jusco....

i rushed to the milk rack...and NIL Progress Gold on the rack...sigh....!

then, we went to Guardian....and no Progress Gold too!!!!????

ok, the last place to go - the Cold Storage at The Gardens....i was about to give up hunting for the milk and already told Jihan that she cannot milk-milk anymore...we'll give her fresh milk instead...

maybe it's my luck...2 tins of Progress Gold on the rack at the Cold Storage...pheww!!! though it is more expensive, i don't want to loose these 2 tins so i bought them both....

there had been a few occasions that it is so difficult to find Progress Gold in the market...i hope Wyeth is more concern about this and will do something about the shortage of this brand in the market...

i didn't have any difficulty of buying the milk when she was breastfed....how i missed that moment...

Hi Doc Ezura, thought I come over after noticing your callsign over at Zaitgha's.
Regret to read of your milk problems. But not familiar with this, I'll hold my comment.
Can come see you for headache? Ha ha. But actually I will avoid lady doctors, no offence meant, but malu la nak buka cherita re personal problems, ha ha.
Also for some reasons, purely psychological, I tend to avoid doctors and nurses...I'm a big coward where doctors and dentists and injections are concerned. Ha ha.
Infact I used to date women from all walks of life, but the moment I dengar she a nurse, I do a U turn. Afraid of hospitals, anything to do with injections, ha ha. But I do have friends in the medical line.
Anyway, you have a beautiful Sunday, Doc. Hope you find the milk you want soon. Best regards, UL.

dr ezura, i'm just wondering, apa bestnya Progress Gold ni ye? of course not to compare with bm la kan... I still bf her during the nights, but since i leave her with the bbsitter during the day, i don't have enough supply which resort to fm to top it up... i'm still kinda window shopping for fm (fanatic bf mommies might ketuk me for this.. huhu) & still not sure of the best fm for afifah. Currently trying Dumex Mamil Gold with immunofortis because the stuffy nose that she had seems to get better when she took this.

Hi Dr Ezura,

I have finished reading all your posts on breast feeding. There was not a step that I missed during my breast feeding days. I had cracked nipples too and tried using the rubber nipples, bought myself an expensive pump and only managed to pump 1/10 of the small bottle after 20 minutes. To put it in a nutshell, I have tried everything there was to try and I wanted so much to breast feed my kids and it didn't work. In fact for my second child after the breast feeding failure of my first one, I had myself prepared much earlier, in my first trimester lagi. A few bidans asked me to rendam my nipples dgn warm water and balut dgn mcm2 daun la, trust me I had to go thru a lot to ensure I could be able to breast feed my second child. But when the time came, I failed yet again. It was mentally strenuous for me and I didn't give up instantly. I tried and pushed myself, but they kept bleeding and bleeding for a month. After they have healed, I tried again, and they bled and crust and swollen. Of course it was frustrating. But at least I know I have tried...hard. I have sought for many doctors help and they responded indifferently blaming me for not trying hard enough. Bila pegi hospital je kena marah sebab tak breast feed my kids.

I am not complaining but merely relating. Please don't take this negatively and please don't give that look when someone couldn't breastfeed their offspring, coz I have been thru that stage and it didn't help me at all. I am not implying you are that kind of a doctor, but it's so difficult to find one that is genuinely friendly nowadays.

I used to teach the medical students and nurses at HUKM and I always tell them, treat your patients not just like another turn number, but like a person with needs of attention no matter how tired you are. Don't blame them for their sickness coz that's the last thing they wanna hear. Hope my former students took heed.
But it was nice teaching there coz when it's time for to be wheeled to the OT, my former students who have become qualified nurses took charge and held my hands all the way and embarrasingly cleaned me up after. Prof Zainul was also a god sent.

Thanks for taking time to read. Still in my quest to find the solutions of breastfeeding problems. Plan to have another baby, and this time I desperately wish to make it work.
